"The Historic Faith" is a series of lectures on the Apostles' Creed, put into book form. In it, Westcott carefully analyzes and expounds on every phrase of the Creed, describing its richness and role in Christian history and the Christian faith. This book is a fantastic little read, packed with solid, insightful, informative and orthodox Christian teaching.
It was first published in March, 1883. The second edition was published in November of that same year, the third edition in 1885, and the fourth edition in 1890. There may also be subsequent editions and reprints. The text that follows is from the fourth edition, published by Macmillan and Co., London, 1890. The pages was scanned, converted to electronic text using OCR software, and proofread. The original spelling and format (line breaks, page breaks, page numbering, marginal notes, etc.) are all preserved.
